Description and Table of Contents
Description
Using as its framework a biopsychosocial approach, Adolescent Psychotherapy presents and discusses several models of psychotherapy. The contributors use a social systems approach to conceptualize the role and function of the community, school, family, individual, and therapist. The book also addresses the following critical issues: goals of psychotherapy, the working alliance with the teenager and family, transference and countertransference phenomena, and the termination process. Adolescent Psychotherapy also includes useful case vignettes to illustrate intrapsychic conflicts and the psychotherapeutic process.
