Description
This exploration of the hazards caused by erosion, sedimentation and pollution describes all the techniques needed to conserve soil and to maintain environmental quality. The book provides an analysis of the erosion process. It considers soil and water conservation problems and solutions around the world and in many different situations including agricultural, engineering, mining, urban, rangeland and forest sites. The influence of pollution and other environmental factors on the preferred solution to conservation problems is discussed together with economic considerations. There is also consideration of how society and government influence soil and water conservation.
