Description

The last fifteen years have seen significant progress in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Effective drug and behavioral therapies have emerged, stimulating rising intersest in these conditions and fresh optimism regarding the results that can be achieved with treatment. This volume of the Handbook of Anxiety reviews recent progress and looks optimistically toward the future. Much remains to be learned about the classification and etiology of anxiety from which more specific treatments may be developed. But research is making good progress and the outlook for patients with anxiety is promising.
