内容説明
The last few years have witnessed a growing sense of crisis about the state of management training in the UK. There has been general consensus on the need for more and better quality management training, but little agreement on precisely what training is needed or how this should be provided. In this volume Professor Silver brings the major reports and recommendations issued in the last few years alongside contributions and commentaries from leading figures in industry and business education. The volume includes extracts from reports by Constable and McCormick, Handy, Hirsh and Bevan. The editor analyzes their findings and indicates the key areas of concern for the future; commenting in particular on the vexed questions of management "competencies" and certification. The final section of the book focuses on new initiatives, with commentaries by leading authorities involved in current proposals. They include Bob Reid (NFMED, British Rail), John Banham (CBI), Lord Young (formerly DTI) and Sir Adrian Cadbury.
