Description

There is currently an intense interest in curriculum planning in East Asian countries, many of which are expending considerable funds and at the same time re-examining fundamental concernes about the curriculum. While educational developments in the USA, UK and other countries have had some impact on official educational policies in Asia, the overall goals of curriculum policy, its form and priorities must be understood in the context of the country in question. "Curriculum Development in East Asia" provides an understanding of the purposes, nature and tensions which affect curriculum development in East Asia in the late 20th century.
