In view of the rapidly aging population worldwide, it is a matter of some urgency that the mechanisms of senility of the brain be determined, in areas of neurochemistry and molecular neurobiology, and that new drugs to prevent or treat brain senility be developed. This book reports on topics such as recent developments and approaches in brain senility, recent research in neurochemistry and molecular genetics on the pathogenesis of Parkinson disease and Alzheimer disease, and the development of neurotransmitter replacement. The publication provides researchers in both experimental and clinical research with the latest data to assist them in their search for the mechanism of neuronal death accompanied by aging, and the mechanism and prevention of brain senility.
