内容説明

Hardbound. Volume 31 in this series presents novel approaches in chemotherapy, focusing on inhibitors of key enzymes (thymidylate synthase, IMP dehydrogenase, purine salvage enzymes and ribonucleotide reductase) and other strategic enzymes of nucleic acid biosynthesis. Among various important topics this volume also concentrates on the role of signal transduction in mammals and yeast. Diversities of a family of signal transducing protein kinases are also highlighted and the role of inositol lipid phosphorylatin in the cell nucleus is discussed. The molecular basis of carcinogenesis is examined with emphasis on the expression of cellular oncogenes in human neuroblastoma and on action of tumour suppressor genes. The Special Symposium Lecture, one of the highlights of this two-day symposium, was delivered by George H Hitchings, who spoke on Properties of Purine and Pyrimidine Analogs, a topic which brought him the Nobel Prize.
