Description
The third edition of The Psychomotor Domain and the Seriously Handicapped stresses the variables of physical development, motor development, physical fitness, and leisure time recreational skill development particularly as they relate to individuals who are severely and profoundly handicapped. The book, as a whole, includes materials which collectively address the following topics: Overview of the Mandate and Challenge; The Educational Team Approach; Testing, Assessment and Evaluation; and Programming. The majority of this book is devoted to Programming, with major sections on Physical Education and Special Education Programming; Allied Medicine Programming; and Recreational Programming. Original and already published contributions to this book include a variety of professionals including adapted physical educators, therapeutic recreators, special educators, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists. This exemplifies the team approach required to address the unique needs of those who are seriously handicapped.
