内容説明
This is a description of a joint project between a rural Northants comprehensive school and its feeder schools, for which an English curriculum was designed to maintain continuity of work and an easy transition for pupils moving up to senior school. The project hit many levels in the attainment targets for "English in the National Curriculum" (DES 1990). The projects also covered many elements in the programmes of study for key stages 2 and 3. Follow-up interviews with primary school pupils before and after transition revealed how the projects helped pupils to settle in more easily at the secondary school, at the beginning of year 7. Where appropriate, the approach used in this case study is related to wider issues of continuity and liaison, and selective reference is made to research in these areas.
