内容説明

This book is the first attempt at a synthetic grasp of the theoretical and general methodological problems in ergonomics. It is based on the debates of a great number of specialists from various fields and on the author's own studies and thoughts. The book has several aims: to familiarise readers with the range of problems; to facilitate understanding of the science; to direct the reader's thinking and action to solutions which are in agreement with the spirit of ergonomics; to make him more sensitive to signs of non-ergonomic actions in practice; to concentrate research in the particularly important areas; to encourage the application of ergonomics in a very broad, efficient way in practice; and also to assist the reader to find his own role in the system of these actions. The book is addressed to theoretical and practical ergonomists who are active in scientific institutions, institutes of hygienics and environmental care, institutes of industrial design, design offices, industrial plants, and other places that are interested in the development of ergonomics in theory and practice. It also will be useful to students of technical universities, of art colleges, and of economical, humanistic, and medical universities of which professional devotion will always be connected with ergonomics.
