Description and Table of Contents
Description
Reviewing the last ten years' experience with CAPD from a variety of angles, this volume represents a contribution to the still on-going debate about CAPD as a valid, long-term alternative to haemodialysis. Peritonitis being one of the major reasons for the discontinuation of CAPD, its therapy and preventive strategies receive special attention. This is followed by the presentation of alternative osmotic agents and new aspects of peritoneal transport kinetics. The sections focusing on differential indications, which evaluate different nation-wide studies and survey experience with specific patient groups, offer insights for all concerned with optimizing patient selection.
