Description and Table of Contents
Description
This presents findings on nervous system injuries resulting from radiation therapy and offers guidelines on diagnostic imaging and treatment of these injuries. It also explores the prospects for radioprotection of the nervous system. Experts examine the response of normal tissue to radiation and the influence of fractionation and dose rate on tissue tolerance and present experimental studies and clinical observations on radiation-induced central nervous system injury. Included are reports on injury resulting from commonly used and state-of-the-art radiation therapies.
