内容説明

This multi-disciplinary study of three contemporary French poets, Yves Bonnefoy, Jean Tardieu, and Henri Michaux, originally re-examines the question of interarts relations in twentieth century French studies. Adelia Williams focuses on three poets who have devoted a central portion of their oeuvre to the plastic arts, showing the complexity with which they have formulated a poetic vision informed by profound reflection on the visual arts. By successfully combining modern and post-modern thought with literary theory, cultural criticism, and art history, this book is an important contribution to interdisciplinary explorations of the roots of modernism.
