This study is the result of a conference held at the School for Slavonic and East Europen Studies, marking the 50th anniversary of the Soviet takeover of Poland. The papers examine different aspects of this event and its consequences, including the diplomatic background. "The Soviet Takeover of the Polish Eastern Provinces, 1939-41" is part of a series of books which cover issues relating to Russia and East Europe. The publications range widely, from political, historical and economic themes to general, social and cultural themes.
