内容説明

This book provides an up-to-date and critical analysis of the Soviet military system. Sapir traces the evolution of Soviet military doctrine up to Gorbachev, showing that the era of military glasnost is a logical development of this process. He also examines and compares East-West relations and policy in the area of nuclear arms, and the development of Soviet society in relation to its military capability, showing how the U.S.S.R. has tried to compensate for social and economic weaknesses by increasing military strength.
