Using a comparative analysis of the concerted efforts of writers, composers, and literary- and music historians as precursors of the glasnost doctrine from the 1960-90s, Milojkovic-Djuric argues that these people facilitated the decline of socialist realism. The present day mentality of openness, she contends, was nurtured by the literary works and musical compositions of high artistic and ethical standards.
