内容説明

The Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) International Reference Atmosphere (CIRA) first appeared in 1961 and has been subsequently supplemented by work published in 1965 and 1972. CIRA 86 , the fourth in the series, is published in two parts, Part I: Thermosphere Models , published in 1989 and Part II: Middle Atmosphere Models , presented here. The primary height domain for Middle Atmosphere Models has been taken to be 20-100km altitude, with the thermosphere model providing the reference model data above 100km altitude. The twenty papers contained in this volume describe the mean behaviour of the atmosphere between 0 and 120km, the atmospheric variability of the mean, and compare the new reference atmosphere with various other data sets. In view of the current importance of ozone, an ozone model has also been included. The lengthy and valuable appendix contains tabulations of the reference atmosphere as a function of latitude, pressure and altitude.
