Description
The interface between society, politics and the process of urban renewal in Shahjahanabad - the walled city of Delhi - is examined in this volume, which also attempts to identify the forces that have aggravated the decay of Shahjahanabad. The author explores the problems that this decay has brought in its wake for the residents, evaluates plans and policies prepared for its redevelopment and identifies reasons for their failure.
