内容説明

A series devoted to applied scientific work in the growing field of behavioural assessment with children. Methodological, theoretical, and practical issues regarding children's psychological functioning are presented with an emphasis on empirical verification and behavioural referents. Assessment of family functioning is included in recognition of the significant impact of family in child behaviour. Contributions include comprehensive reports of original data-based research, and to a lesser extent critical reviews of selected topics. The series samples a broad range of child assessment topics germain to child clinical psychology, child development, medicine, education and social work. The first half of each volume has a general topics section covering a variety of child assessment areas. The second half of each volume contains a special topic or theme, such as assessment of children's social skills or assessment of child behaviour in the context of family interaction, in order to present in greater depth an important topic being researched by several investigators. In addition to promoting empirical validation of behavioural assessment methods, the series aims to elucidate significant controversial and complex issues associated with the behavioural assessment of specific child problems. Volume five covers a broad range of topics related to some of the problems of childhood. Chapters dealing with the prediction of suicidal risk amongst children and childhood anxiety address the problems from the individual level of the child whilst others are concerned with the wider social aspect, ranging from an assessment of social problem-solving in aggressive children to one on psychostimulant effects with children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. Finally, a synthesis of multiple research literatures is proposed relating child adjustment to family disruption and parent-child access.
