Description and Table of Contents

Description

"Chemicals for the Automotive Industry" covers the wide range of advanced materials, surface treatments and clean fuels/lubricants now used in the manufacture, propulsion and upkeep of motor vehicles. It looks at both recent advances and current research and illustrates progress to date, future trends, novel applications and the effects of their use on the environment (with regard to pollution, recyclability and efficiency). Areas of change forecast and encouraged by environmental consideration are fuels, oils and recyclable, lightweight plastic components such as biodegradable lubricants and oxygenated diesel and ignition engine fuels. "Chemicals for the Automotive Industry" is unique in dealing with materials science topics of direct relevance to the automotive industry and is addressed to chemists, materials engineers and managers involved in this area, as well as the technically educated motor enthusiast.
