内容説明
This work presents the highlights of the June 17-21, 1990 Workshop on Geometric Modeling for Product Engineering organized by IFIP Working Group 5.2 and attended by 77 researchers representing 11 countries. The workshop explored state-of-the-art research and development in product modeling and its applications, significant trends, and future directions and research opportunities. Papers contributed to this volume are derived from the 53 conference presentations, as well as from input generated by the working groups, and comments generated by a formal review process. The volume is organized into three main sections. The first section is concerned with product modeling from a geometrical and topological standpoint. The second is devoted to higher-level product specifications, and is concerned with capturing and communicating the designer's intent for the functionality of a product. The final section relates to the analysis of product and process information.
