Description

Lipoxygenases are enzymes involved in the conversion of arichidonic acid to leukotrienes and lipoxins. These serve a variety of important functions and have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases. This book looks at the structure, pharmacology, and cellular mechanisms of action of lipoxygenases and their metabolic products.

Table of Contents

  • Pharmacology and pathophysiology of 5-lipoxygenase products, E.F.Smith III et al
  • regulation and structure of human leukocyte 5-lipoxygenase, C.Rouzer
  • the structure and regulation of 5-lipoxygenase in rat basophilic leukemia cells, A.Wong and S.T.Crooke
  • arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase of porcine leukocytes studied using its monoclonal antibodies, T.Yoshimoto et al
  • enzymatic studies on purified 5-lipoxygenase, W.DeWolf, Jr
  • potential and therapeutic value of development of novel 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors, A.W.Ford-Hutchinson
