内容説明
A number of applications have emerged from positron-emission tomography (PET), including studies of the normal brain as well as of pathological conditions such as tumors, epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson's disease and other psychiatric disorders. This volume in the "Progress in Psychiatry" series outlines the effect PET has had on schizophrenia research. Improvements in technology and in the methods to measure receptor neurotransmitters with PET offer hope to the schizophrenic patient.
目次
- Positron-emission tomography - from the physics to the instrument
- Positron-emission tomography and regional brain metabolism in schizophrenia research
- Laterality in schizophrenia - positron-emission studies
- Clinical interpretation of metabolic and neurochemical abnormalities in schizophrenic patients studied with positron-emission tomography
- The use of positron-emission tomography in identifying and quantitating receptors involved in schizophrenia.
