Each year the realization of the importance of ergonomics for improving working conditions and providing for human comfort at work and at home increases, as the application of ergonomics brings more and more tangible benefits to society at large. The 1991 "Annual International Industrial Ergonomics and Safety Conference" held in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, 10-14 June 1991, sponsored by the International Foundation for Industrial Ergonomics and Safety Research and the University of Louisville, has brought together more than 200 professionals form 15 countries in a quest to share their knowledge of new developments in the design for people and improving safety at work.
