Description
A first-line reference source, covering both basic science and clinical aspects of the field. The text and illustrations blend physiological and clinical perspectives for maximum practical value to the cardiologist or the internist, in practice or in training. Volume 1 is devoted to essential knowledge of cardiac physiology and pharmacology and covers the latest insights and technologies in cardiovascular diagnosis. Non-invasive and invasive tests, electophysiology and imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, Doppler echocardiography and digital subtraction angiography are described and analyzed. The second volume concentrates entirely on cardiovascular diseases, with coverage of all currently accepted therapeutic and management methods. It includes coronary heart disease, hypertension, valvular disease, myocardial, pericardial and endocardial disease, congenital heart disease and other disorders of the heart and circulatory system.
