Description
The more signicifant and contemporary themes in the public law of Scotland are discussed by a group of 18 contributors in this book. Each of the major component areas of public law are addressed with a more general theoretical discussion of issues raised. Separate sections deal with the structures of government, human rights and administrative law and legal and constitutional theory. Professor A.W.Bradley contributes an essay on the protection of human rights under the European Convention, Professor Neil Mac Cormick looks at constitutional interpretation, Professor Terence Daintith at political programmes and constitutional content and the Hon. Lord Clyde assesses the supervisory jurisdiction of the Court of High Session. This collection marks the retiring of Professor Bradley from the Chair of Constitutional Law at Edinburgh University.
