内容説明

This is a reference work on the pathology of common and rare infectious diseases. Coverage includes newly recognized entities, infections seen in AIDS patients, rare opportunistic infections, infections endemic to specific geographic regions and fungal and parasitic infections not covered in standard texts. Emphasis is given to key issues of pathogenesis, especially to microbial diversity and mutability and to the multiple inborn, acquired and iatrogenic host factos that alter human responses to infection. There are references to current literature and listings of diagnostic procedures as well as microbilogic, immunodiagnostic or genomic markers for all diseases.
