内容説明

Written by more than 20 experts from medical centres, this volume provides guidance on the evaluation and management of gastrointestinal and nutritional problems in patients with AIDS. An introductory section presents background information on the biological and clinical features of HIV infection, the immune system in the gastronintestinal tract, and the relationship between nutrition and immunity. The contributors then offer recommendations on the diagnosis and treatment of oral complications of HIV infection and gastrointestinal infections, gastrointestinal neoplasms, and hepatobiliary disease accompanying AIDS. Separate chapters describe the gross and microscopic pathology of AIDS in the gastrointestinal tract and the radiological changes associated with AIDS. The concluding chapter offers practical guidelines for establishing a gastrointestinal unit for AIDS patients.
