For the first course in Electrical Machinery or Electrical Power, this edition features new & reworked end-of-chapter problems as well as new content: Coverage of GTO Thyristors; coverage of permanent magnet dc motors & solid state controllers; induced torque in AC machines coverage; and an optional section on synchronous motor transients. This jr/sr level course is taken by electrical and some mechanical engineers. Chapman's book has been very successful in both engineering and engineering tech programs. While retaining the overall math level, this edition adds some "optional" higher math sections.
