Description

This text traces Karl Barth's theological pilgrimage from F.D.E. Schleiermacher and the nineteenth century theological legacy to Barth's distinctive perspective, based in large part on his interpretation of Anselm's Proslogion. Whereas many scholars have dealt with the methodological changes brought about by Anselm, this book examines the movement in Barth's christological formulation, arguing that Barth's mature Christology cannot be understood apart from his interpretation of Anselm.
