Description
The author narrates chronologically the architectural developments of the 19th and 20th centuries within present-day Europe. She shows, with copious illustrations and lucid text, how each country, including Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, responded to the requirements and possibilities of each age. Doreen Yarwood has written a number of works on architectural and costume history. Previous titles include "Encyclopedia of Architecture", "A Chronology of Western Architecture" and "The Architecture of Britain".
