This book reviews phonosurgical procedures and techniques and provides details of instrumental microsurgery of benign lesions of the vocal folds, laser surgery of the larynx, laryngeal framework surgery and reinnervation of the larynx. Laryngeal injection techniques are also described. For each technique examined, the specialists identify current indications, characterize perioperative voice assessment studies, establish patient selection criteria, recommend surgical approaches and materials and suggest possible adjunctive measures for achieving optimal phonosurgical results. Emphasis is placed on accurate diagnosis, precise localization of the vocal pathology, careful patient selection, objective voice assessment and meticulous surgical technique.
