内容説明

In the past it has been common practice to abandon a development project whose performance falls below expectations. More recently, however, there has been a growing concern that abandoning a project wastes an existing asset, which could instead be rehabilitated. "Project Rehabilitation in Developing Countries" works from the assumption that once failure is diagnosed the rehabilitation policy should be drawn from two broad categories: internal structure and operation of the project; and external factors which influence performance. Kirkpatrick looks at the cause of project failure, alternative procedures and techniques for use in selected projects, rehabilitation and recovery programmes, and the management and institutional aspects of project rehabilitation policy. This book should be of interest to students of development economics, development studies, and planning.
