内容説明

The unification of Germany has given rise to speculations, doubts and anxieties as to Germany's approach to European affairs, and as to whether Germany's political and geographic identity will remain firmly anchored to the West. This book is an examination of West Germany's European policies with particular reference to the Common Agricultural policy (CAP). It scrutinizes Bonn's approach to the CAP and reveals an apparent disparity between European rhetorics and practical policies. In the period between 1960 and the present, successive German governments have, while articulating a commitment to European integration, practised a firmly national response to the CAP even when this conflicted with EC supranational institutions. This book is aimed at students of European studies, EC pressure groups and national institutions.
