内容説明

A study of social policy in Margaret Thatcher's Britain of the 1980s. The author examines how far the practice of social policy is influenced by the underlying ideology at a time when concensus appears to be breaking down on the British political scene. The role of the Welfare State in these changed circumstances is examined, particularly in so far as it is a provider of services which must be financed by tax expenditure.
