内容説明
The book's theme is judicial activism in industrialized democracies, with a chapter on the changing political roles of the courts in the Soviet Union. Eleven contributors describe the extent to which the highest courts in their country of expertise have moved beyond adjudication of legal disputes to embrace the making of public policy. The authors explore why the judiciaries in the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, and Israel are considerably more active than their counterparts in Japan, France, England, Sweden and the U.S.S.R.
