内容説明
Lincolnshire has long been known for its large number of medieval archaeological sites, and in particular for the exceptional nature and preservation of many deserted medieval villages. Yet with a few notable exceptions no full record or analysis has been made of any of these sites. The range of investigation is extensive - from the geology and landscape of the area, through its early and Roman history to a detailed look at deserted villages, castles, deer parks, fishponds and even abandoned gardens. The book will act as a springboard for future exploration of the complex physical, social, economic and tenurial forces that together created the villages of this part of England.
