Description and Table of Contents

Description

The 57 papers presented in this issue summarize our knowledge of the physics of the solar corona from both the theoretical and experimental points of view. The first section reviews the current status of coronal physics. The second part consists of a discussion on the development of diagnostic methods to measure the plasma conditions in the corona, and of new coronagraphic techniques to be utilized in the experiments planned for space missions in the 1990s. The volume concludes with a report on space experiments planned for the next decade to study the physics of the solar corona, the inner heliosphere and the solar wind.
