This is the second collection of articles on the Paleozoic in the series, "The Phanerozoic Geology of the World". The articles cover the geology of a wide variety of areas, including one of the first reviews on the Paleozoic geology of Asiatic Russia. In contrast, the book also contains an up-to-date overview of the geology of Southern Europe. This is the first attempt to amalgamate the scattered data on areas south of the Alps. The articles on South America clearly demonstrate the rapid advance of geological research in South America. The areas are described in as much detail as possible, by authors who are familiar with the areas through their own research. This book will be a valuable addition to anyone working in this field.
