This book is a consideration of the evolution of the countries of the Commonwealth after the fall of the British Empire. The book focuses on the political development of these countries and discusses Ghana, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Malta. In addition to their political development, the book discusses their social and economic development and in the case of South Africa its policies as regards international relations. The final chapters in the book consider the role of the Commonwealth Third World in the international economy and the position of theses countries as regards human rights.
