Description and Table of Contents

Description

This work describes the principles of digital communications. Based upon the authors' own research, the book provides a comprehensive and quantitative investigation of the effects of linear and nonlinear distortions and interferences. Focusing on digital modulated signals transmitted on radio or satellite link, the text examines how equipment is selected with reference to the channels which will be used. Along with conventional and more current solutions to digital communication problems, the numerous graphs, diagrams and formulas prove useful in designing transmission systems.

Table of Contents

  • Binary coding of signals and modulation
  • calculation of the spectral energy density of digital signals
  • baseband transmission
  • coherent demodulation
  • incoherent demodulation synchronization
  • distortions and perturbations
  • coding and the correction of errors in a transmission chain.
