内容説明

This book offers an account of the key role of Polish student movements in the rebirth of their country. It provides a history of student activism in Poland and explains the context in which recent changes have occurred, partly through interviews with Poles who were in the universities themselves at the time. Professor Wankel documents how the flame of activism stayed alive through years of repression and how a handful of clandestine activists came to lead a student movement involving tens of thousands, ultimately bringing workers, intellectuals and students together in the renewal of their nation.

目次

  • How and to what extent do events in micro-mobilization contexts drive a student movement in Eastern Europe? - a comparative analysis
  • how a small number of prior clandestine activists came to found a control a large national student movement organization
  • discussion of theoretical implications and conclusions.
