This is intended as an introduction to fluid mechanics for third-year Chemical Engineering students. The presentation of fluid mechanics is clear and simple, with numerous detailed examples. Throughout the text, an emphasis is placed on the connection between physical reality and its mathematical models; considerable attention is given to the balance equation since it is the most all-pervasive concept of chemical engineering; and the book takes into consideration the widespread use of the digital computer by following hand calculation with computer solutions.
