This volume presents two previously unpublished treatises in MiddleEnglish on Latin grammar: the Accedence (an English versionof Donatus's Ars Minor) and the Regemina secundum MagistrumWacfilde(a complete treatise on syntax). Interesting in themselves,these classroom texts also add to our knowledge of elementary educationin 15th-century England. The edition contains extensive notes, comparingthe two treatises point by point with othergrammatical texts in useat the time, as well as a further introduction to the teaching ofbasic grammar in late medieval England.
