Orientation in industry is shifting away from traditional mass-production towards small-series, customer-oriented production, termed "one-of-a-kind" manufacturing. Requirements and methods used in this "new" industry are presented within this volume for diverse industrial application areas including: aerospace, shipbuilding, sports-car production and dental technology. New approaches from research labs, institutes and universities demonstrate exciting possibilities to increase competitiveness in these industries.
