Description

This book describes the state-of-the-art of adaptive control in particular with regard to realization with digital process computers, microcomputers and personal computers. It presents the fundamental principles through the design steps, theoretical analysis, simulation studies, comparison, software and hardware realization to real applications. The first two parts cover adaptive control based on process identification and parameter estimation in discrete time and incontinuous time. The authors then go on to discuss model reference adaptive control, adaptive control of multivariable processes and the adaptive control of nonlinear processes. Finally, adaptive control applications for different industrial processes with process computers, microcomputer and personal computers are introduced.

Description

Describing issues in adaptive control with special regard to its realization with digital process computers, microcomputers and personal computers, this book also includes historically important schemes for its implementation with analogue equipment. The book provides a balanced presentation from the fundamental principles and theoretical analysis, through the design process, simulation studies, comparisons, software and hardware realization, to real-world applications. It includes an introduction and in-depth treatment of areas such as feedforward adaptive control and model reference adaptive control.
