内容説明

In the last 20 years Brazil has become a global exporter of conventional armaments. Brazilian defence manufacturers have joined the ranks of powerful multinationals to carve for themselves a share of one of the most lucrative markets in the world. How has Brazil been so successful when other developing countries with more sophisticated science and technology infrastructures, such as India, have failed? The answer, argues Patrice Franko Jones, is the dynamic partnership between the Brazilian state and private industry. The book aims to place the Brazilian defence industry in both its domestic and international contexts and examines the difficult challenges currently facing the industry, especially the effects of macroeconomic instability and the attempt to enter more sophisticated markets.
