Description

This text proposes that we scrap the arbitrary concept of a national deficit and replace it with a system of generational accounting that will enable citizens to see who actually pays - and when - for today's expenditures. By forcing politicians and citizens to talk today about what we will have to do tomorrow, generational accounting can help us plan for the future with greater moral clarity than was possible before.
