Description and Table of Contents

Description

This volume contains selected papers from those presented at the Tenth International Conference on Production Research held at the University of Nottingham, UK, in August 1989. All aspects of production engineering and production planning now rely on "computer aided" approaches, and major initiatives are being made to integrate all systems, from design through to manufacture and despatch, in an attempt to reduce indirect costs and minimize product development times. Ergonomic and human factors research is having to address the changing nature of the jobs and human/computer interaction being brought about by these changes in manufacturing systems. It is against such a background of a rapidly changing technological and economic environment that this selection of papers is presented.

Table of Contents
