Description and Table of Contents

Description

This series consists of self contained tracts on topics pertinent to the subject of laser technology starting with a basic introduction and going on to explore the most advanced results. This volume commences with a discussion of the basic mechanisms of semi-conductor non-linearity, and continues with reviews of one-beam self action of light, two-beam interaction, four-wave light mixing and optical bistability. Each chapter mentions important applications of the observed behaviour of the semi-conductor material, including suitability as a non-linear medium in optical data processing.
